Camp Of Adventure In Nature Nest Goa
The Vivekanand Environment Awareness Brigade [VEAB] had organised 2 days camp for children and adults at Tamdi surla in nature nest resort . This was one of the unique camp I have ever experienced , this camp gave us opportunity to be in touch with this beauty of our nature, and also provided us a unique learning experiences in the forms of jungle jeep safari, night trail, bird watching, and some more interesting adventures activities, such as nest making and various games.
Lecture on safety and protection that we have to maintain during night trail, was given by Gajanan Shetye sir he told us what we will have to carry during night trail and what precautions we would have to take , like what we have to wear and all. Another lecture was given by Pankaj Lad sir it was about birds in our locality. he gave us many information about ,how they live? What they eat? How they weave their nest ? And so on. he also shown us some better and simple ways to make our house birds friendly.
After that next session was held by Sa ntoshi Didi it was based on keeping our environment green and clean. And the main point she focused was Solid Waste Management Project she explained us how to reduce waste and informed about which things are harmful for our nature that we can or we must avoid. Night trail was conducted by Ramesh Zarmekar sir he showed us many different insect’s, a unique Scorpio carrying its babies on its back , frogs, reptiles, different types of insects. Then he let us hear different sounds of nocturnal birds… this was very unique and awesome night trail which I ever experienced!!! Next morning Ramesh sir took us all for bird watching and there we saw almost more than 50 type of birds. Like Ruby Throated yellow Bulbul which is our state bird, then red wanted Bulbul, various kinds of Kingfishers, leaf birds, many types of Drongo’s ,jungle crows, mag pie robin, bee eaters, oriental white eye, Hornbills etc.
In the trip of jeep Safari we were mesmerized seeing glorious beauty of Mahavir national park’s lush green jungles. We had also spotted Gaur(Indian Bison) which is the state animal of Goa.
VEAB team gave us golden opportunity to involve in many adventures activities ,and it was just amazing !!!…. This camp gave us bunch of memories with extraordinary learning experiences. this all made us so curious about learning and finding some more things about nature. And it taught us many things related how to save our beautiful mother earth from getting polluted…
this camp would be always memorable in my life .
